TANYA SHETH

When I think of Tanya Sheth, the words strong, loyal, independent and genuine come to my mind. She is one of the most inspiring women in my life; I respect her emotional strength, her attitude of being very upfront to the people around her, and her being so understanding no matter what I tell her. I’ve seen her go through a lot with her family, specifically with her father, but she still manages to keep on a strong face and pushes through. Being there as she has gone through so much not only at home but also at school, I have always been shocked as to how she does it. How she smiles every day, how she pushes past criticism and how she still manages to be an amazing best friend despite all this.

No matter what is going on in her own life, she has always been there for me and all her friends if we needed to talk. She’s here to listen to us and doesn’t even expect us to listen to her in return. She’s gotten into trouble at home just cause she wanted to be with at my birthday party, she’s stood up for me innumerable times and has also been the best shoulder to cry on. I can say that she has tremendous willpower from a story I remember. She had just found out about the death of a family member she loved, yet she came to school. She held back her tears and wrote a 2-hour long paper, which she also fared well in. This is the strength she has, and I believe it’s truly commendable.

One thing I love about her is her honesty; she will tell the story the way she sees it. It doesn’t matter to her it if may be harsh or difficult to hear. She speaks what she thinks, with no sugar coating of her opinions, and I hope to learn this from her. Lastly, I’d like to learn from her how she manages to not care about what others think of her and always managing staying true to herself.
